Team Sunweb's Lucinda Brand has taken her first world cup victory in Tabor, Czech Republic. The rider took the lead after an attack in the final lap and crossed the finish line ahead of Annemarie Worst and Alice Maria Arzuffi.

This is the second race for the rider in the Cyclocross season after the one in Gavere at the Superprestige, where she finished in the eighth position. "I didn't have the quickest start, but it was one long line and I could take advantage of being in the wheels to try to move closer to the front," said Brand.

"I was feeling strong but on every lap there was a really icey section where it was difficult to even walk normally, I knew I felt good so I just had to stay calm and I managed to come back every time. I'm super happy with my first world cup win."

"Lucinda showed last year that these are parcours that suit her really well," added Team Sunweb's coach Hans Timmermans. "After finishing 2nd at the European championships it's great to see her take her first world cup win here."

Dutch rider Marianne Vos keeps the lead of the World Cup with 225 points. Sanne Cant is in second place and Kaitlin Keough stands in the third position.
