In which can be considered a miracle, Stig Broeckx is back on his bike. The former rider of Lotto Soudal suffered a serious crash at the 2016 Tour of Belgium.

On the 28th of May of that year, the rider was involved in a crash of two motorcycles at the Tour of Belgium. He was kept for a while in an induced coma while he underwent surgery and recovered from head injuries, but he didn't wake up afterwards.

It was feared that Broeckx was not going to wake up from the coma, but after a long and almost miraculous recovery, the rider is back on the bike after two years of the crash. During the weekend, the rider went out on a mountain bike in Belgium.

"The forty kilometres on the mountain bike really pleased me," the rider commented to the Belgian radio station Studio Brussel. "I have been looking forward to this very much. Next time I want to ride on my road bike, that is my next goal."

When asked about the sport he responded: "I still have a love for cycling and I'm still following it."
