Mikel Landa would want to start at the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France in his second year at Movistar. After a season in which he suffered a crash that stopped him from starting at the Vuelta a España and the World Championships, the rider wants to reach success with the team.

The Spaniard was at the 25-anniversary event of the Euskadi Foundation and there he talked about the upcoming season. "I would like to ride the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France," he commented to Spanish newspaper AS. "I will talk to Eusebio (Unzue) and then we will see what happens."

Landa's contract finishes in 2019 and he wants to do good performances to ensure his future. "I don't think the Giro will influence the Tour performance," he commented. "There have been years with a lot of mountains at the last week of the Giro and many riders have been then ready for the Tour.

"The results that I achieve will influence my future. I hope to give many considerations to the people that want to renew them or the ones that aim to sign me. There will always be people that will want to count on me."
