Team Virtu Cycling Women has confirmed the signing of Anouska Koster. The Dutch rider has been at the team currently known as WaowDeals for four seasons.

Koster won the road race at the Dutch nations championships in 2016, and she has a palmares that includes a GC victory at the 2017 Lotto Belgium Tour, the second place in the overall classification at the 2017 Gracia Orloa, the third at the 2016 Tour of Norway and at the 2015 Ronde van Overijssel Women, among others

"After four great years at the same team, it was time for me to go for something new, a new adventure and a new challenge," said Koster. "Choosing a new team didn't take long because my inner feeling with the VIRTU team is really good. I like the character of the team and think it's a team where you can feel at home.

"The team staff showed confidence in me and I have a lot of confidence in them and the whole team. In this team, I want to make the next step in my career and with my new teammates I'm aiming to be a great teammate and to get the maximum out of our efforts. I am really looking forward to working with them."

Team Virtu has a clear idea about Koster's work in the upcoming season. "We are so pleased to bring Anouska Koster to the team for 2019," said sports director Carmen Small. "She is a rider that has not reached her full potential and will continue to grow in a leadership role.

"I expect great things out of her this next season and I hope I can help push her to the next level. She brings a ton of experience to the team. Anouska is an athlete I have watched over the years. She will bring to the team her professionalism and help shape the team in a positive way. We really miss someone on the team that has her virtues as a rider and will play a huge role in the roaster for the Ardennes and more hilly races."
