Georgia Williams has won the Time Trial of the New Zealand National Championships. This is the second title in a row for the rider of Mitchelton-Scott.

The rider was the fastest at the 20-kilometre route and beat Rushlee Buchanan and Holly Edmondson by eleven second and one minute and 50 seconds, respectively. "I'm happy. It's a relief as there's always a bit of pressure coming here trying to defend my title so it was good to get this one," Williams commented at the end of the competition.

"It was super hard (with the wind on the back of the course). I think I went a little bit too hard on the way out in the tailwind and got a bit too excited, so I was struggling down the back in the headwind. It just dragged on and dragged on, but I just pushed through."

Now Williams will prepare to defend her road race title. "The team loves a national champion and it's really cool to represent New Zealand in Europe."
