Sanne Cant has won the Cyclocross World Championship for the third time in a row. The Belgian beat Lucinda Brand and Marianne Vos, who were in second and third place respectively.

The competition in Bogense, Denmark, was between Belgium and the Netherlands from the start of the event, with the exception of the Swiss Jolanda Neff, who also joined the front group. Marianne Vos, Denise Betsema, Annemarie Worst, Lucinda Brand, Ellen Van Loy and Sanne Cant were the other riders at the head.

The first rider to attempt a move was Vos, who was followed by Betsema and Cant. Later on, Worst, Van Loy, Neff and Brand also joined them. The next attack came from Cant and Betsema and Brand were able to respond, but the same didn't happen for the Swiss rider.

Soon after, it was Brand's turn to make a move and Cant followed, while Betsema, Vos and Worst struggled behind to keep up. But the Dutch rider made a mistake while changing bikes and fell, what cost her the advantage and her possibilities for the victory.

The rest of the race showed a strong Cant who was followed closely by Brand and Vos, who at the end of the day stepped on the second and third positions of the podium while the Belgian rider received the Gold medal once again.
