Oscar Quiroz (Coldeportes Strongman) has taken the victory of the road race at the Colombian national championships. Astana's Liliana Moreno took the win in the women's race.

Quiroz had already been on the podium of the Colombian championships in 2017, where he was third, and in 2018, where he was second. The rider was part of a breakaway of 22 men, if which seven fought for the final victory.

The favourites of the day like Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana), Egan Bernal (Sky), Daniel Martinez (EF Education First) and Sergio Henao (UAE Team Emirates) were in the peloton and their efforts were not enough to catch the escapees. Manzana Postobon's Juan Felipe Osorio and Bolivar's Jose Serpa stepped on the second and third positions of the podium, respectively.

"I've already taken victories at the Clasico RCN and stage wins in Costa Rica," said Quiroz at the end of the race. "Now I will try to do my best in the Tour Colombia 2.1 and be one of the stars in the tour that the team will make in Europe."

Astana's Liliana Moreno took the victory of the women's race. The rider crossed the finish line ahead Bogota's Jessica Parra and Antioquia's Estefanía Herrera. "I'm so happy for this victory, I was looking for it for a long time!" said the 26-year-old.

"It was a quite hard day, it was very hot out there and the final climb was steep: luckily I had good feelings right from the start and I tried to save energies until the very last move."
