UAE Team Emirates' Juan Sebastian Molano has taken the win at the third stage of the Tour Colombia. The rider crossed the finish line ahead of Julian Alaphilippe and Diego Ochoa.

The 167.6-kilometre stage with a start and finish in Llanogrande featured four climbs to the Alto El Nano. Molano was able to arrive with the group to the finish line, unlike the other sprinters, and he beat the competition at the finish line, taking like this his first victory with the Emirati team.

"It was a beautiful moment, to get my first win with my new team and doing so here in Colombia, it's fantastic," said the Colombian rider. "Gaviria, unfortunately, was not well. I had a big responsibly and I was able to repay the enormous trust given to me by the team.

"I felt great all day, on the climbs my legs were good and I found myself secure in the finishing straight for the sprint. The work of my team-mates getting there was perfect all day. I want to thank the team who kept me going throughout the stage."

Molano crossed the finish line ahead of Deceuninck-Quick-Step's Julian Alaphilippe and Manzana Postobon's Diego Ochoa. Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) and Egan Bernal (Team Sky) completed the top five of the day.

EF Education First's Rigoberto Uran took the lead of the General Classification. His teammates Daniel Martinez and Lawson Craddock are in third and fourth overall positions with his same time, while Alaphilippe is in the fourth position at two seconds.
