Trek-Segafredo has taken its second victory in a row in the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana with the win of Lotte Lepistö at the stage-two of the race.

The second stage of the Spanish race was 100 kilometres long between Borriol and Villareal, with a profile that suited the fast riders. There were several attempts of escapes during the stage, but it all came down to a final sprint in which Lepistö outsprinted Valcar Cylance's Maria Giulia Confalonieri and Canyon-SRAM's Elena Cecchini.

"Wow! I can just say wow! This team makes me so proud of the choice that I made to be a director," said director Giorgia Bronzini. "The plan was to bring Lotta to the sprint and everyone covered the attacks like we had planned.

"There was just a bit of chaos in the end, with a crash in the middle of the peloton. But after Anna (Plichta), Audrey (Cordon-Ragot) and Elisa (Longo Borghini) brought Lotta into the best position and Lotta finished the hard work in the best way possible. I am super proud."

Lepistö's teammate Ruth Winder has kept the GC lead and stands at six seconds from Soraya Paladin (Ale Cipollini) and Karol-Ann Canuel (Boels-Dolmans).

The next day the peloton will face the Queen stage of the race that will be 110 kilometres long that will feature a climb of the second category and an HC ascent in Xorret the Cati, less than three kilometres away from the finish line.
