Paris-Nice has announced some more big names for the 2019 edition of the race. The first European WorldTour stage race will have some of the riders that are expected to perform in the Grand Tours.

The 77th edition of the French race will be held between the 10th and the 17th of March and will have a good mix of sprinters, climbers and puncheurs. The fast stages will have a strong competition with riders like that have already been in the race like Arnaud Demare (Groupama-FDJ), Dylan Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma), John Degenkolb (Trek-Segafredo), Michael Matthews (Sunweb), Sam Bennett (Bora-hansgrohe), Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida), André Greipel (Arkea Samsic), Matteo Trentin (Mitchelton-Scott) and Alexander Kristoff (UAE Team Emirates), who will be joined by debutants like Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data), Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal), Christophe Laporte (Cofidis) and Bryan Coquard (Vital Concept-B&B Hotels).

The General Classification will also have a strong competition with Colombian riders like Nairo Quintana (Movistar), Esteban Chaves (Mitchelton-Scott), Miguel Ángel López (Astana), Egan Bernal (Team Sky), Sergio Henao (UAE Team Emirates) and Rigoberto Urán (EF Education First).

Next to this riders, other strong overall contenders include Richie Porte (Trek-Segafredo), Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky), Bob Jungels (Deceuninck-Quick-Step), Romain Bardet (AG2R La Mondiale), defending champion Marc Soler (Movistar), Domenico Pozzovivo (Bahrain Merida), Ilnur Zakarin (Bahrain Merida), Pierre Rolland (Vital Concept-B&B Hotels), Warren Barguil (Arkea-Samsic) and Lilian Calmejane (Direct Energie).
