Alexis Vuillermoz will lead AG2R La Mondiale in Tirreno-Adriatico. The Frenchman will lead the GC aspirations of the team and will have strong riders supporting him.
Vuillermoz has shown he is in good shape with the victory he took at the Royal Bernard Drome Classic and his top ten positioning at the Classic de l'Ardeche Rhone Crusson and the three stages of the Tour Cycliste International du Haut Var.
"Unlike other years, Tirreno Adriatico does not have a big mountain stage," said sports director Didier Jannel. "We will be faced with a sequence of hills where the classics specialists will be able to show off their skills.
"The race opens with a team time trial that is 21.5km long, and I think that it will play a 60% role in determining the final overall classification. So it will be important to be in the game right from the start."
Vuillermoz will have next to him riders that have also shown to be strong at this point of the season. "Alexis Vuillermoz is in good shape, as he proved recently," Jannel explained. "And he will be our leader for the overall standings. We can also count on a rider like Silvan Dillier who has already performed very well in the first two classics of the season.
"Julien Duval and Nans Peters, who was at the front of the early season French races, will also be important to the team."
AG2R La Mondiale's roster for Tirreno-Adriatico (13th to 19th of March):
Alexis Vuillermoz
Julien Duval
Silvan Dillier
Clement Venturini
Nico Denz
Nans Peters
