Gracie Elvin and Sarah Roy are set to lead Mitchelton-Scott at the Drentse Acht van Westerveld and the Ronde van Drenthe.

A week after the outstanding victory of Annemiek van Vleuten at Strade Bianche, Mitchelton-Scoot wants to keep the victory streak going by fielding strong riders for the 1.2 and WorldTour races in the Netherlands.

The Dutch weather will play an important part in the races, which have in the past had varied results with final sprints, escape groups and solo victories. Both races will feature the man-made VAMberg, a 40-metre high mountain, that will be climbed twice at the Drentse Acht and three times in the Ronde van Drenthe.
"I’m really looking forward to the races in Drenthe this year," said Elvin. "I’ve got good memories of these races, as well as plenty of war stories like everyone else. These races have a reputation for becoming epic days on the bike even if they look relatively simple on paper. Narrow roads, crosswinds and aggressive racing always lead to an unpredictable and exciting finish, especially on Sunday’s race that crosses the famous VAMberg a few times.

"Sarah Roy and I have stayed in Belgium since the opening weekend getting some efforts and kilometres done on the roads we will be racing on in a couple of week’s time leading into Flanders. It’s been fun to push each other over the cobbles and climbs and make the most of a good block in one place. I think this preparation will really pay off and even for this weekend in Drenthe. We’re motivated to go for some big results."

Mitchelton-Scott's roster for the Drentse Acht van Westerveld and Ronde van Drenthe (15th and 17th of March):

Jessica Allen
Grace Brown
Gracie Elvin
Lucy Kennedy
Sarah Roy
