Biehler Pro Cycling is ready to tackle its first ever UCI Women's WorldTour race in the Ronde van Drenthe. Two days before, the team will also start in the Drentse Acht van Westerveld.

These are two home races for the team and in both the peloton will face several ascents of the VAMberg and cobblestone sections. Melanie Klement will be racing on roads she's very familiar with. "I don’t live in Diphoorn anymore, but it still feels like home," the rider commented. "The parcours holds no secrets for me and I hope to see many familiar faces on the side of the road. I think it will be a very nice weekend of racing."

"With a lot of wind and rain both races will be races of attrition, and we have to be super sharp all day long. We will focus on our development and we hope to come home with solid results each race. Of course, we dream of winning, but that surely won’t be easy. Still, the atmosphere in the team is great and everyone has the will to grow, both personally and as a team."

The Dutch rider is pleased about the way her training went in the winter. "I was able to train injury-free so that already is a huge improvement on last year," Klement explained. "I still experience last year – which was an unlucky year for me – has some effect on me, but I feel like things are going in the right direction now.

"The first races were all about learning, both for me and the team. But I think we have a solid basis to build upon and I really hope we can show to the world we are on the right track."

Biehler Pro Cycling's complete roster for Drentse Acht van Westerveld and Ronde van Drenthe (15th and 17th of March):

Merel Hofman
Nienke Wasmus
Melanie Klement
Natalie van Gogh
Roos Hoogeboom
Henrietta Colborne
