The AMGEN Tour of California has confirmed all the teams and some of the riders that will start at the 2019 edition of its races. The men's race will be held between the 12th and the 18th of May and the women's competition between the 16th and the 18th of May.

In the 2019 edition of the race, 19 men's teams will face the competition that will start in Sacramento and finish in Pasadena. The women's event will count with the presence of 16 teams and will kick off in Ventura and finish also in Pasadena.

The men's race will have the top-three WorldTour teams and a peloton that will include World and national champions, as well as Olympic medallists and Tour de France veterans. Riders like Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe), Marcel Kittel (Katusha Alpecin), Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data), Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis), Rohan Dennis (Bahrain Merida), Magnus Cort Nielsen, Omar Fraile (Astana) and Peter Stetina (Trek-Segafredo), have confirmed the participation in the race.

Seven of the top-nine UCI ranked women's team will start in the three-day race including Boels-Dolmans with the current World Champion Anna van der Breggen and the former rainbow jersey wearer Chantal Blaak. Another former World Champion to be in the race is Lizzie Deignan with her new team Trek-Segafredo.

Another outstanding riders to be present at the AMGEN Tour of California Women's Race empowered with SRAM include Lisa Brennauer (WNT Rotor), Arlenis Sierra (Astana), sisters Kendall Ryan (Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank) and Alexis Ryan (Canyon-SRAM) as well as Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM), Ashleigh Moolman Pasio (CCC-Liv), Coryn Rivera (Sunweb) and defending champion Katie Hall (Boels-Dolmans).

"I’m excited to say I’ll be coming to California in May to race the Amgen Tour of California," said Hall. "California is really special to me – it’s my home state, and I’m excited to race these new courses in Southern California. This is going to be an exciting race! The courses are new and well-designed, and will make for some aggressive and exciting finishes."
