Mathieu van der Poel has not suffered any fractures as a result of the heavy crash he sustained at the last metres of Danilith Nokere Koerse. The rider should be able to continue with his calendar.

The heavy images of Mathieu van der Poel's crash at the Belgian race and the fact that he stayed on the floor and was picked up by an ambulance made the cycling community fear for the rider's well being. But his team, Corendon-Circus has mentioned through Instagram, that his injuries are not serious.

"Nokere Koerse didn’t end as we expected," said the team in a message with the picture of the Dutch national champion. "A nasty crash for Mathieu van der Poel in the final straight line and afterwards they took him away with the ambulance to the hospital.

"Luckily, no fractures have been determined. Only abrasions and bruises. With these circumstances, he will be able to complete his road program as planned."

The calendar of Van der Poel includes Gent-Wevelgem, Dwars door Vlaanderen, the Tour of Flanders, Brabantse Pijl and the Amstel Gold Race.
