Peter Sagan is set to lead Bora-hansgrohe at the Tour of Flanders. The rider hasn't been able to give his 100% in the past races but feels ready for this challenge.

Sagan took the victory at the Ronde van Vlaanderen in 2016 and he is ready to go for it again. The former World Champion suffered from stomach problems just before the start of the Belgian classics, which has kept him away from the victory, but despite that, he has been in front and fighting for the races as much as possible.

Now the rider feels ready to tackle the second Monument of the year, but he will feel the absence of Oscar Gatto and Jempy Drucker on his team, who are out because of injuries. "I was able to recover over the last week and I trained well," he commented. "I did everything that I felt was necessary. Now we will see how it goes. It is, of course, a real shame that Oscar and Jempy will not be lining up to race.

"They have worked very hard and would have deserved to be there, but despite their absence, we will still have a good team heading into the race. This year, there are several favourites. Perhaps this time, I won't be the one who is being watched by everyone, and that can also have its advantages. In any case, we have to concentrate on ourselves, and ride our own race."

Bora-hansgrohe's roster for the Tour of Flanders (7th of April):

Marcus Burghardt
Daniel Oss
Juraj Sagan
Maciej Bodnar
Lukas Pöstlberger
Andreas Schillinger
