Sam Bennett (Bora-hansgrohe) has been the strongest sprinter at the second stage of the Tour of Turkey. The rider outsprinted Felix Grossschartner and Jhonatan Restrepo to take the day's victory.

The peloton went through a 183.3-kilometre route that included one climb of the third category, one of the second and an uphill finish. The definitive escape of the day was formed by seven riders and included Mauricio Moreira, Lucas De Rossi, Liam Bertazzo and Thimo Willems, among others.

Bora-hansgrohe took the lead of the pack to set the pace and force a bunch final and two crashes happened behind that affected two sprinters: UAE-Team Emirates' Juan Sebastian Molano and Lotto Soudal's Caleb Ewan. The pack finished catching the escapees with 25 kilometres to go, and it continued preparing for a fast finale.

The final was technical and Bora-hansgrohe did a good job for Bennett and the rider crossed once more the finish line in the first position ahead of his teammate Felix Grossschartner and Manzana Postobon's Jhonatan Restrepo. Gonzalo Serrano (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) and Jan Polanc (UAE-Team Emirates) completed the top-five of the day.

With this victory, Bennett keeps the lead of the overall classification for another day and he's only two wins away from Andre Greipel's record of ten stage triumphs.
