Lotto Soudal's Caleb Ewan has taken the victory of the fourth stage of the Tour of Turkey. The Australian crossed the finish line ahead of Juan Jose Lobato and Sam Bennett.

The longest stage of the Turkish race took the riders through a 194.3-kilometre course that featured two climbs of the third category. An escape of five was formed early in the stage and included names like Mauricio Moreira, Lucas De Rossi and Thimo Willems, and it built a gap of more than eight minutes with the pack.

Bora-hansgrohe, Lotto Soudal, Dimension Data and Deceuninck-Quick-Step took turns in the pack to set the pace and force a bunch sprint. With 12 kilometres to go the escapees were finally caught and soon after Delko-Marseille's Mauro Finetto attacked but was caught at the final uphill stretch.

Lotto Soudal's Caleb Ewan showed to have the better legs in the final metres and crossed the line ahead of Nippo-Vini Fantini's Juan Jose Lobato and Bora-hansgrohe's Sam Bennett. UAE-Team Emirates' Simone Consonni and Deceuninck-Quick-Step's Fabio Jakobsen completed the top five of the day.

Bennett managed to extend his lead of the General Classification for another day.
