Mathieu van der Poel (Corendon-Circus) already has an idea about how his next season is going to look like.

Van der Poel is in the south of the Netherlands awaiting for the Amstel Gold Race, where he is one of the favourites, and from there he discussed his plans for the 2020 season. The Dutch national champion will dedicate more time to Mountain Bike, a discipline in which he wants to become World Champion and Olympic champion next year.

He also ruled out the Amstel Gold Race but commented he will ride Paris-Roubaix, while the rest of his classic season will look the same as the current one. He also explained that he has had offers from WorldTour teams but he's not paying too much attention to them just yet.

"There have been already a couple of teams that have contacted me," Van der Poel commented without mentioning any names. "Patrick (Lefevere) knows my dad a little too, so there's logical that there has been a contact. But I have let everyone know that they have to wait for now. I am still under contract with Corendon-Circus until 2023."
