Yorkshire 2019

Part of the Italian selection for the World Championships of Yorkshire has been doing recon on the route. Four riders have met in the English county a few months before the competition.

The day after finishing in the 10th position of the Amstel Gold Race, European champion Matteo Trentin travelled to Yorkshire to join Elia Viviani in the recon of the World Championships. The rider of Mitchelton-Scott made the trip with other two Italians that were also at the Dutch classic: Alberto Bettiol, who just won the Tour of Flanders, and Sonny Colbrelli.

The route of the road race of the World Championships or Yorkshire will take the peloton through the hills of the county over 285 kilometres. The race is set to be on the 29th of September and is also going to be less than a year before the Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020 and riders will also be fighting for qualification points for that competition.
