Elia Viviani is going to be one of Deceuninck-Quick-Step's main men at the Tour of Romandie. Young talents Remco Evenepoel and James Knox will attempt to get a good General Classification position in the race.

The Swiss race will include two time trials, two hilly and two mountain stages, giving an opportunity for every kind of rider. Two stages, in theory, can finish in a bunch sprint and Viviani will aim to take the victory, showing his Italian colours in one of the last races before the national championships take place again, and adding to the six wins the formation has achieved in the race.

"The race will be a hard one, bookended by time trials and with many hard climbs which will shape the general classification," said sports director Davide Bramati. "On paper, one, maybe two stages, will end up in a bunch sprint, and if this will happen, then Elia – who can rely on a strong train – will be our man.

"We also have two youngsters on the squad, Remco and James, who have impressed this season, finishing in the top 10 overall at World Tour events. We're looking forward to having both back in action, without putting any pressure on them, just taking it day by day and see how it goes."

Deceuninck-Quick-Step's complete roster for the Tour de Romandie (30th of April-5th of May):

Eros Capecchi
Remco Evenepoel
James Knox
Davide Martinelli
Fabio Sabatini
Florian Sénéchal
Elia Viviani
