UAE-Team Emirates' Alexander Kristoff is set to defend his title in Eschborn-Frankfurt. The rider has taken the victory in four editions and aims to add a new one to that list.
Kristoff has taken the victory in 2014 and 2016 when it was still a 1.HC race, and in 2017 and 2018, as a WorldTour competition. The German race will be 187.5 kilometres long over a route that will include eight climbs and a finish that is bound to be in a bunch sprint.
"Four successes in a row make this race a special event for me," explained the Norwegian rider. "I have many great memories that are added year after year. I think I can be so competitive in this race because we usually reach the sprint after a very intense event. I can't ask for anything better given my characteristics."
