Mitchelton-Scott has announced the complete roster that will accompany Simon Yates in the upcoming Giro d'Italia. The rider is returning to the race with a strong team with the ambition of taking the final victory of the race.

The Australian team returns to the race after an outstanding 2018 edition in which Yates got to wear the Pink Jersey for 13 stages, now with the mission of keeping in it until the last day in Verona.

Yates will have next to him Jack Bauer, Luke Durbridge and Chris Juul-Jensen, who will work hard in the first and flat stages, while Brent Bookwalter, Lucas Hamilton, Mikel Nieve and Esteban Chaves, who will be his support in the mountains.

"We're heading to Italy with the aim of finishing off the job this year," said Mitchelton-Scott's Head Sports Director Matt White. "That may mean we don't win as many stages, but we're looking at the bigger prize. We're 12months on from the last edition, we've learnt a lot in those 12months, and our job is to put that to good use across the three weeks of racing.

"We've run a very similar template with Simon's build up again this year, he is in similar shape which means it's a good place to be starting our journey. We have had some bad luck with some late changes due to injuries, but it does show that we have some depth in the team to fill those places with some very capable bike riders and I'm certainly very confident that we're going to be able to support Simon at an incredibly high level with the group that we've put together."

Mitchelton-Scott's roster for the Giro d'Italia (11th of May-2nd of June):

Jack Bauer
Brent Bookwalter
Esteban Chaves
Luke Durbridge
Lucas Hamilton
Chris Juul-Jensen
Mikel Nieve
Simon Yates
