Manzana Postobon has decided to end the professional team as a result of the adverse analytical findings that have involved two of the riders of the squad.

The corporation 'Pedaleamos por Colombia' (We pedal for Colombia) has been involved in the team for 10 years, establishing it in 2006, then taking a step up to Continental level in 2007 and becoming a professional continental in 2011. "Considering the adverse situations that have happened in the last weeks, in which sportsmen of our professional team were personally involved, we have decided not to continue with the professional squad," said the team in a press statement.

"For this reason, the team will not start in the upcoming competitions that were scheduled in the national and international calendars."

Wilmar Paredes was notified of an Adverse Analytical Finding for EPO in a sample that was taken on the 27th of February of 2019, while Juan Jose Amador received the notification of an AAF for Boldenone in a sample of the 22nd of October of 2018.

"We want to thank all the sponsors that trusted in the team all these years and stood next to us," the statement explained. "Without you, it wouldn't have been possible to achieve the goals that we set. We had more to give, but unfortunately, this problem that haunts the sport stops us from doing so.

"From the Corporation Pedaleamos por Colombia we make a call to athletes and cycling teams of the country to strengthen the commitment to fight against doping, increase intern controls and educate the riders to protect their environments. This is the best way to avoid situations like the ones that make us say good-bye to the sport."
