Jumbo-Visma's Primoz Roglic remains in the second overall position after the 15th stage of the Giro d'Italia but he has lost some seconds to riders like Richard Carapaz, Vincenzo Nibali and Simon Yates.
Roglic suffered a series of problems throughout the stage but managed to control the damages at the end. At the penultimate descent of the day, the Slovenian was forced to change bikes with Antwan Tolhoek, he returned to the pack but was unable to respond to the attacks of Yates, Nibali and Carapaz and on the last descent of the day, he suffered a small crash.
"It wasn't a good day for me, but it wasn't the worst either," said the rider. "All in all I can live with the outcome of this stage if you take the bad luck into account. I had to change bikes going to the Civiglio. It is always different than riding your own bike.
"Nibali and Carapaz were very strong today. At the top, I was not far behind, but I took a little too many risks. It is still a long way to Verona and anything can happen. I still feel pretty good. First I will enjoy the rest day and then we will see what happens next."
Roglic sits in the second overall position at 47 seconds from Carapaz and one minute ahead Nibali.
