Bahrain-Merida's Dylan Teuns finished the third stage of the Criterium du Dauphine with the peloton and remains on top of the General Classification ahead of the individual time trial.

The team of the Belgian rider managed to keep him protected during the third stage of the race -which was suitable for the fast men- and took him safely to the finish line in Riom with the peloton. Teuns managed to keep the lead in the overall classification for another day and ahead of the time trial of the race.

"I tried to save energies, but the cold was hard," said the rider at the finish line. "I enjoyed my day in the yellow and blue jersey, but I would have enjoyed it more with the sun. It’s important that all went good and we finished safely in the bunch."

The individual time trial of the fourth stage will be 26.1 kilometres in Roanne over a course that has a slight climb midway. "It’s a big day for the GC riders," Teuns explained. "I will have a small advantage on the big names of the overall, but I will try to defend the jersey. I’m confident seen my performance on the time-trial I did this year and I believe in myself."
