Criterium du Dauphine - Gregor Mühlberger: I missed only some centimetres to Alaphilippe

Bora-hansgrohe's Gregor Mühlberger finished the sixth stage of the Criterium de Dauphine in the second place just behind Julian Alaphilippe.
The Austrian rider escaped early on the stage with Alaphilippe and Alessandro De Marchi, and could follow the attacks of the Frenchman until the end. The two of them arrived together to the final metres, sprinted to get the stage's victory and it was so close that the result had to be checked with photo finish.
"The team gave me a chance to fight for a stage win today," said Mühlberger. "After 13km of racing, a breakaway went up the road. We were a really small breakaway with only three riders but we worked really good together and were able to open up a huge gap.
"In the last 15 km the attacks were flying but I was able to counter every attack, and held Alaphilippe and De Marchi under control. Finally, just us two battled for the victory. In the finale, I missed only some centimetres to Alaphilippe."
