Criterium du Dauphine - Emanuel Buchmann: It is a big result for me to finish on the podium

Bora-hansgrohe's Emanuel Buchmann has finished in the third overall position of the Criterium du Dauphine. The German rider had a constant performance on the race and reached a podium position at the end.
Buchmann had already finished on the top ten of the French race and this time he could step on the final podium. The rider showed strong performances on the mountains and the individual time trial, which gave him the opportunity to fight for a podium position and gain experience and confidence ahead of the next appointments of his calendar.
"It was a tough final stage, but at least the weather was better than yesterday," said Buchmann at the end of the race. "I stayed all the time with the group of favourites, among the yellow jersey.
"Once again, the team did a great job and protected me the whole day. I finished in 10th place and made it onto the podium. I am more than happy, it is a big result for me to finish a stage race like this on the podium. I am looking forward to the Tour and hope to make the one or other good result there."
