Team Ineos' Geraint Thomas has crashed out of the Tour de Suisse. The Briton hit the deck just after the 30-kilometre mark with injuries that didn't allow him to return to the bike.

The bad streak of Ineos continues after Chris Froome's horror crash in the Criterium du Dauphine and Jhonatan Narvaez' training accident in which he broke his hand. Now the victim was Thomas, who started in the Swiss race as a preparation to defend his title in the upcoming Tour de France.

The Welshman hit the deck at around 30 kilometres to go in the fourth stage of the Swiss race and right away medical personnel from the team and the race got to him. "He was alert and speaking to the team after the crash and will be taken to hospital for checks," said Team Ineos in a tweet.

After Froome's accident ruled him out of the upcoming Tour de France, Geraint Thomas is set to be the main man of Ineos for the race.
