Giro d'Italia unveils routes of three Hungarian stages for 2020

The organisation of the Giro d'Italia has announced the courses of the three Hungarian stages that will serve as the opening of the 2020 edition of the race.
It was already announced that the Corsa Rosa will have its Grande Partenza in Budapest on the Saturday 9th of May of 2020 in a 9.5-kilometre long individual time trial. Its route will start in Heroes' Square and continue along the Danube and the Parliament, then it will enter the old city and will have a final ascent of around 1.5 kilometres to finish in the Castle district.

The second stage will be 193 kilometres long and will also start at the Heroes' Square, continues to the Danube via the short and easy ascent of Svabvar to the Magyar plain and a route that includes easy undulations and a shot climb. The stage will finish in Györ on the city boulevard.

On Monday 11th of May, the third stage will take the peloton from Szekesfehervar and Nagykanizsa over a 197-kilometre mostly flat route that will likely also finish in a bunch sprint.
