Valcar-Cylance has announced the signing of Elena Pirrone and confirmed her presence in the upcoming Giro Rosa with the team.

The Italian rode with Astana Women's Team in 2018 and even though she was supposed to have a contract until the end of 2019, she made a mid-season move to Valcar-Cylance. The 20-year-old is a young talent that already includes two titles in her palmares, as she won the road race and the time trial at the 2017 UCI Junior Road World Championships.

At the same time with her signing, Valcar-Cylance also announced that the Italian will start right away at the Giro Rosa. She will be one of the two riders -along with Alessia Vigilia- that will fight for the young rider classification in the longest race of the women's WorldTour calendar.

The Italian team will start in the race -which kicks off in Cassano Spinola on the 5th of July and finishes in Udine on the 14th- with two riders that can fight for good General Classification position: Asja Paladin and Alice Maria Arzuffi.

Valcar-Cylance's roster for the Giro Rosa (5th to 14th of July):

Asja Paladin
Alice Maria Arzuffi
Dalia Muccioli
Ilaria Sanguineti
Alessia Vigilia
Elena Pirrone
