Dylan Groenewegen celebrates in seventh stage of Tour de France

Jumbo-Visma's Dylan Groenewegen has taken the victory of the seventh stage of the Tour de France. The rider was the strongest sprinter in the bunch finale in Chalon-sur-Saone.
The start line of the seventh stage was in Belfort and the finish in Chalon-sur-Saone after a 230-kilometre stage -the longest of the 106th edition of the race. The breakaway of the day was formed by two usual suspects: Yoann Offredo (Wanty-Gobert) and Stephane Rossetto (Cofidis).
Tejay Van Garderen (EF Education First) and Mike Teunissen (Jumbo-Visma) crashed in the first kilometres of the stage and later in the race the American was seen with blood streaming down his face. The peloton rode calmly throughout the stage until a small group dropped in the back of the peloton that included riders like Nairo Quintana, Dan Martin, Adam Yates and Wout van Aert with around 28 kilometres to go but things got back together some kilometres later.
Rossetto was reeled back in with 12 kilometres to go, while Offredo wanted to fight a bit longer and he was caught two kilometres later. The peloton headed to the finish line without problems and in the last kilometres, the sprint trains started forming.
The Deceuninck-Quick-Step train was in front of the bunch, but Jumbo-Visma's Dylan Groenewegen launched his sprint from behind and it was so strong that the others couldn't match it. Lotto-Soudal's Caleb Ewan and Bora-hansgrohe's Peter Sagan were in the second and third places of the stage.
Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida) and Jasper Philipsen (UAE-Team Emirates) completed the top five of the day. Trek-Segafredo's Giulio Ciccone was safely taken to the finish line by his teammates and he keeps the Yellow Jersey for another stage.
