EF Education First's Rigoberto Uran has lost some time in the chaotic tenth stage of the Tour de France. The rider fell several positions in the General Classification at the end of the day.

Crosswinds caused complete chaos in the peloton in the last 30 kilometres of the tenth stage of the French grand tour. Teams like Deceuninck-Quick-Step, Ineos and Movistar took turns in front of the peloton and caused several breaks in the peloton, leaving behind riders like Rigoberto Uran, Thibaut Pinot and Jakob Fuglsang.

"Sadly, the break in the peloton caused an important time loss," said the Colombian rider to Spanish news agency EFE. "We had the whole team working, but in front, everybody was taking turns because important riders for the General Classification were left behind. That is the Tour. It is important that we didn't crash."

At the start of the stage, Uran was in the eight positions of the General Classification and at the end, he fell five positions and sits now in the 13th overall place, three minutes and 18 seconds behind the wearer of the Yellow Jersey, Julian Alaphilippe. "We lost some important time that will be very difficult to win back."
