AG2R La Mondiale has confirmed the contract extensions of six riders. The French team has renewed the deals of its backbone for one or two more years.

Vincent Lavenu, General Manager of AG2R La Mondiale, has confirmed the extension of the contracts for five riders until 2021: François Bidard, Julien Duval, Tony Gallopin, Alexis Gougeard and Clément Venturini. Stijn Vandenbergh has also signed a new deal with the French team for one more year.

"It is important for the stability of the team to extend the contracts of the riders whose strength and talent are very important to us," announced Lavenu at the rest day of the Tour de France, one day after Romain Bardet climbed eight positions in the General Classification of La Grande Boucle.

The General Manager of the team also commented in Castres -where the team is spending the rest day- that other discussions are being held with other riders. Bardet already has a contract with the team until 2020.
