Marianne Vos (CCC-Liv) took the victory of La Course by Le Tour de France. The Dutchwoman crossed the finish line three seconds ahead of Leah Kirchmann and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig.

The French race was 121 kilometres long in Pau over the circuit that the men were going to tackle in the Individual Time Trial of the Tour de France. The race started with the escape of eleven riders and included names like Sarah Roy, Karol-Ann Canuel, Jeanne Korevaar and Audrey Cordon-Ragot, among others.

At 47 kilometres to go, two-time winner, Annemiek van Vleuten (Mitchelton-Scott) made a move on the third ascent of the Cote de Gelos and the new rhythm set by the peloton also meant the end of the breakaway. Shortly after, Amanda Spratt (Mitchelton-Scott), Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (CCC Liv), Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (Sunweb), Soraya Paladin (Ale Cipollini) and Lucinda Brand (Sunweb) formed a new escape.

Spratt was left alone in front just at the start of the last lap and she continued the next kilometres by herself. At the last ascent of the Cote de Gelos, Brand and Marianne Vos (CCC Liv) made a jump from the peloton and were also soon joined by Van Vleuten, while the reduced pack followed them closely.

At the final climb of the day, Vos made her decisive move and caught Spratt with 350 metres to go and continued to take the second victory of the race in her career. Leah Kirchmann (Sunweb) and Ludwig completed the podium of the competition.
