Diego Ulissi to captain UAE Team Emirates in Tour de Pologne

Diego Ulissi is set to lead UAE Team Emirates in the Tour de Pologne, the race in which Fernando Gaviria and Valerio Conti will make their return to competition.
The Polish race will mark the return for the Colombian and the Italian riders, who were out of competition due to physical problems. The race will take place between August 3 and 9 and will have several opportunities for sprinters and for the climbers, and Ulissi will try to get one stage victory.
"Taking part in the Tour de Pologne is always a pleasure and it's a race that motivates me," said the rider. "I'm going here motivated and with the goal of fighting for a stage win.
The route this year will be particularly challenging, to be in with a shot we will need to be consistent every day."
Gaviria already knows what it's like to win in the race and is looking forward to competing again. "The Tour de Poland will be a significant event for me since it will mark the return to racing after the forced stop due to knee problems," the Colombian explained.
"I'm looking forward to savouring the atmosphere of the race and I'm curious to see what level I can sustain having recently done a block at altitude."
