Jumbo-Visma is set to start in the upcoming Vuelta a España with a roster full of strong riders that can fight for the General Classification.

Just after the finish of the 2019 Tour de France -in which Steven Kruijswijk finished in the third overall place- the team has confirmed that it will take a very competitive roster to the third grand tour of the season. The General Manager of the team Richard Plugge confirmed the information to Dutch broadcaster NOS.

Jumbo-Visma -who also won four stages in the French grand tour- is planning to start in the Spanish race with Kruijswijk, Robert Gesink, Primoz Roglic, George Bennett and Dylan Groenewegen. Three of the riders already showed strong performances at La Grande Boucle and could also do it at the Vuelta.

Roglic will be starting at the race after finishing in the third overall position in the Giro d'Italia -where he also won two stages. Gesink broke his collarbone in April in Liege-Bastogne-Liege and is set to return to racing at the Tour de Pologne, a race that could be used as preparation for the next grand tour.

At the team presentation in December, it was already mentioned that Groenewegen -who won one stage in the Tour de France- was going to make his debut in the Spanish race in 2019.
