Nairo Quintana (Movistar) wants to repeat his victory in the Vuelta a España and confirmed his participation in the race at the end of the Tour de France.
The Colombian rider has had another disappointing performance at the French grand tour. Although he won the 18th stage of the race, he finished in the overall classification at more than five minutes than the winner of the grand tour -his compatriot- Egan Bernal.
Now the rider has set his eyes in a new objective and wants to aim for the General Classification at the 2019 Vuelta a España -which starts on the 24th of August in Torrevieja. Quintana took the overall victory of the race in 2016 and would want to repeat this feat to improve his season.
Movistar still has not confirmed the complete roster of the race but it is rumored that the winner of the 2019 Giro d'Italia Richard Carapaz is also going to start in it, which could mean that Quintana will not be the lone leader of the Spanish formation at the third grand tour of the year.
