Bahrain-Merida's Matej Mohoric has taken the victory of the last stage at the Tour de Pologne while Team Ineos' Pavel Sivakov took the overall win of the race.
The seventh and last stage of the Polish race was 153 kilometres long over a route that included five climbs of the first category and a mountain finish. The break of the day was formed very early on the day and included 14 riders, including names like Matej Mohoric, Michal Golas, Merhawi Kudus, and Tsgaby Grmay.
With around 45 kilometres to go, Mohoric was left alone in front while Rafal Majka (Bora-hansgrohe) attacked from the peloton along with Pavel Sivakov (Ineos) and Ion Izagirre (Astana) in a move that managed to break apart the group. Soon after, the wearer of the leaders' jersey Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) was left struggling behind, what left open the fight for the win.
In the last 20 kilometres, Gianluca Brambilla, Pawel Poljanski, Nielson Powless and Grmay accelerated to chase Mohoric, but the Slovenian was too far ahead and too strong and took the stage victory. Sivakov crossed the line two minutes and 15 seconds after, which was enough to proclaim the victory of the race.
Sunweb's Jai Hindley and UAE-Team Emirate's Diego Ulissi completed the podium of the race, while CCC Team's Simon Geschke won the mountain classification.
