The upcoming Deutschland Tour will have the participation of a great number of cycling stars including Monument, Grand Tour and World Championships winners.

The German race will take place between August 29 and September 1 from Hannover to Erfurt and has announced part of a luxury start list. The local public will be delighted to see German riders like Emanuel Buchmann, Pascal Ackermann (Bora-hansgrohe) and the runner-up of Paris-Roubaix Nils Pollit riding on the German roads.

The number one of the UCI World Ranking Julian Alaphilippe will be at the start line with his teammate and young promise Remco Evenepoel. Team Ineos will be headlined by the winner of the 2018 Tour de France Geraint Thomas and the former World Champion and winner of Milano-Sanremo Michal Kwiatkowski.

General Classification riders like Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida), Richie Porte (Trek-Segafredo) and Dan Martin (UAE Team Emirates) will also start in the race, along with the winner of the Tour of Flanders Alberto Bettiol (EF Education First), Kasper Asgreen (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) and Alexander Kristoff (UAE-Team Emirates).

"The Deutschland Tour 2019 will bring together one of the best pelotons of this season," said Claude Rach, Managing Director of the Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Radsports. "The exceptionally high level of teams and riders participating in the Deutschland Tour underlines the evolution of the race. After the promotion to the HC class, the great interest of both the WorldTeams and the German top stars, the announcement of numerous international key riders is the icing on the cake."
