Movistar Team has announced the signing of two Colombian young promising riders and the contract extension of a member of the women's team from the same South American country.
The links of the Spanish team with Colombia don't finish with the imminent departure of Nairo Quintana. The team has confirmed the signing of the riders that stepped on the second and the third spots of the 2019 U23 Giro d'Italia: Einer Rubio and Juan Diego Alba -who will arrive in 2020 and have signed two-year contracts.
Rubio -who won the Queen stage of the Italian youth race- makes the move from the Italian amateur team Aran Cucine-Vejus and Alba -who took the victory of the sixth stage of the race- does it from Colombian team Coldeportes Zenu.
Paula Patiño arrived in Movistar in 2019 and has signed a contract extension for two more years until at least the end of 2021. She has shown great potential in the team so far with her performances in the Giro Rosa that put her in the top of the Young rider classification and in races like the Lotto Thüringen Ladies Tour.
