Trek-Segafredo has announced the signing of Danish rider Alexander Kamp for at least the next two years.

The Dane is an allrounder that currently plays in the Professional Continental team Riwal Readynez. The 25-year-old will take a step up to the WorldTour level after taking the most significant victory of his career at the third stage of the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire and securing the 4th overall position.

"I am happy to join one of the biggest teams in the world," said Kamp. "I know Mads Pedersen quite well, and he told me the team is really well organized; he had lots of positive things to say about the team. I had some good talks with Luca (Guercilena) and (director) Kim Andersen, and I am really looking forward to collaborating with all these people.

"Trek-Segafredo has both a strong Classics and Grand Tour squad, and for me, I hope to be able to fit into both, so Trek-Segafredo is really the best team I could join. I know I will learn a lot from some of the more experienced guys of the team and I am ready to give my all."

Luca Guercilena, General Manager of Trek-Segafredo, welcomed the news. "It has been a while that we've been closely following Alexander," he explained. "He's a strong and fast and very versatile rider and this year he has made a clear step in winning a stage in Yorkshire, securing the GC in the Circuit des Ardennes International, and winning the points classification in the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. He has definitely earned a chance to prove his worth on the WorldTour level, and we are pleased to welcome him into the team."
