The last days have brought some news about transfers and contract renewals in the world of professional cycling. Team Ineos and Trek-Segafredo have made some announcements about talented riders.

Owain Doull (Team Ineos)

The Welshman has signed a two-year extension with the British team, to which he arrived as a stagiaire in 2016. "Progression is probably the keyword for me," said Doull. "I want to carry on learning from the best people in the best team in the world. My first year with the team was up and down, the second was better, and then this year has surpassed my expectations, to be honest. Starting my first Grand Tour is something I have wanted to do since I joined the team."

Charlie Quarterman (Trek-Segafredo)

The current U23 British TT champion will join the American squad for the remainder of the season as a stagiaire and as a rider for 2020 and 2021. "I'm unbelievably happy with this move," he commented. "Although I know this is where the real hard work starts, it's an absolute dream of mine to join a team like Trek-Segafredo, so I can't wait to get my first races with them under my belt. I'm hoping to make a name for myself as a TT specialist and to learn the trade in the top Classics in the world. It's hard to predict how I will perform in the first races, but I'm aiming to repay the team for its belief in me with work for others and by taking some strong results for myself!"

Richard Carapaz (Team Ineos)

The Ecuadorian rider has agreed on a three-year deal with the British squad and he will arrive to strengthen its grand tour aspirations. "I am very excited about joining the team," Carapaz affirmed. "I feel this is a great opportunity for me to continue my development and growth as a rider, working with a team that continues to go from strength-to-strength, year after year.

"I already know a lot of the riders on the team and I am really looking forward to working everyone at Team Ineos from next season. I believe I will fit into this group well and race to my full potential over the coming years. I want to achieve some great triumphs for Team Ineos."
