The individual time trial of the Vuelta a España shook up the General Classification and Primoz Roglic wore the Red Jersey at the end of the day. Miguel Ángel López -maintained the third position in the General Classification, Patrick Bevin -who was in first position of the ITT until Roglic crossed the finish line, Remi Cavagna -who did a good performance, and Rafal Majka -who climbed to the seventh overall position, shared their thoughts at the end of the day.

Miguel Ángel López (Astana)

"I feel good. Quite good, actually. My intention was to lose less than two minutes, and in the end, it wasn’t possible because Roglic overtook me on the finish line. Regardless of this, I’m content because I’m still in the mix for GC and there is a lot of racing left. The course today was quite hard, and beautiful. There was a lot of terrain to push and ask the most of ourselves. Both Roglic and Pogacar seem quite strong at this point: I’m sure they will be up there until the very end of La Vuelta 19."

Patrick Bevin (CCC Team)

"I’m pretty disappointed, but Primoz Roglic has been the benchmark rider for time-trials this season. Finishing second, I’ve been there before. I’ve sat in a few hot seats and had someone come over on top... It’s a bike race. It’s been a rough season for me and I’ve turned it around. But obviously, you always want a little bit more. I’ll keep working and keep pushing. It was a super hard course. I’ve been building form in the first half and now we look forward to the rest of the race to try and attack."

Remi Cavagna (Deceuninck-Quick-Step)

"After a rest day, it’s always hard, but I felt good and I could see that the legs were there as I was catching many of the riders who left before me. I didn’t target a specific time today, I just rode my own ITT. Overall, it was a nice time trial and I’m happy with my performance, as it signals a big improvement and shows that all the hard work is paying off."

Rafal Majka (Bora-hansgrohe)

"I am happy with my performance. I was going good through all the corners and downhill sections, but it wasn't an easy course today, therefore I am happy to finish inside the top 20 and moving up to seventh again in the general classification. The time trial is done, now we have to focus on the upcoming mountain stages, which will decide La Vuelta."
