Team Jumbo Visma has signed Australian rider Chris Harper for the coming two years.

Harper is 24 years old and makes the move from the Australian Team BridgeLane, where he has been for the last year. The climber will make his debut in the WorldTour level with the Dutch formation in 2020.

The rider is a talented climber and time trial specialists and has a palmares that includes the fourth overall position in the Herald Sun Tour, the victory in the Tour de Japan and the win in all the classifications and mountain stages at the Tour de Savoie-Mont Blanc.

"I am very excited and grateful to have the opportunity to join Team Jumbo-Visma," said a very happy Harper. "It is the perfect environment for me to continue and develop as a rider as well as contribute to achieving the team goals."

"Chris has excelled in the continental circuit," added Jumbo-Visma's sports director Merijn Zeeman. "We think that he can show more of himself and that is why we give him a chance on the World Tour level."
