The Saitama Criterium has announced some of the riders that will be at the start line in Japan and include Chris Froome and Egan Bernal.
The Japanese race will be held on October 27 and its organisation has announced that Froome will make his return to the road in it. The four-time winner of the Tour de France suffered a serious crash during a recon of the individual time trial at the 2019 Criterium du Dauphine that left him with a fracture in the right femur, a fractured elbow and fractured ribs.
Despite the Briton also recently suffered a home-accident in which he cut his finger and needed reconstructive surgery, he will be able to return to competition at the Japanese race. He will be joining his teammate and winner of the 2019 Tour de France Egan Bernal, who will wear his Yellow jersey at the race.
Other stars of the 2019 edition of the French grand tour like Romain Bardet, Matteo Trentin, Daryl Impey, Omar Fraile and Lilian Calmejane will also be at the start line. The organisation of the race also announced the participation of other riders like Oliver Naesen, Jakob Fuglsang, Alejandro Valverde and Yukiya Arashiro.
