EF Education First's Michael Woods has taken the victory of Milano-Torino after an attack on the last climb of the day.

The Italian race was 179 kilometres long between Magenta and Torino over a route that included two climbs in the last 20 kilometres, including the mountain finish. The escape of the day included riders like Joey Rosskopf, Remi Cavagna and Joan Bou, among others.

At the first ascent of the day, only Cavagna remained in front while Ineos took control of the pace of the peloton. With 20 kilometres to go, the Frenchman was reeled back in and the pace of the pack reduced its numbers considerably.

During the last climb of the day, EF Education First's Michael Woods attacked and he was followed by Adam Yates, Egan Bernal, David Gaudu, Bauke Mollema and Alejandro Valverde. In the last kilometre, Woods attacked and was followed by Valverde and Yates.

The Canadian crossed the finish line in the first place ahead of the Spaniard while Yates completed the final podium of the 100th edition of the race.
