Bahrain-Merida has announced the signing of six riders for the next two seasons: Pello Bilbao, Marco Haller, Eros Capecchi, Kevin Inkelaar, Scott Davies and Rafael Valls.
The signings include two Spaniards. Bilbao makes the move after three seasons in Astana and won this year two stages of the Giro d'Italia, one stage at the Criterium du Dauphine, another at the Tour of the Alps and two at the Tour of Turkey, as well as taking the sixth overall positions at the Italian Grand Tour.
His fellow countryman Valls signs from Movistar and has been a great support for the GC aspirations of his team's leaders. Capecchi -who spent the last three seasons in Deceuninck-Quick-Step- has won one stage of the Giro d'Italia and will bring to the team some climbing force and over a decade of experience in the WorldTour.
Haller makes the move from Katusha-Alpecin and he is an experienced sprinter who will arrive to Bahrain-Merida with the objective of enforcing the classics and one-day rosters. Two young riders, Inkelaar and Davies, have already performed at the highest level and look forward to keeping developing at the formation.
"We are thrilled these six riders will join the team and be part of its future direction with Rod Ellingworth and McLaren," said the team's General Manager Brent Copeland.
