Jos van Emden has taken the victory at the prestigious Chrono des Nations on a good day for Jumbo-Visma where Primoz Roglic finished in the third position.

The competition took place over a 46-kilometre hilly route in which the Dutch time trial champion was eleven seconds faster than Team Ineos' Filippo Ganna and 19 seconds than his teammate Roglic. This is the third victory of the season for Van Emden after the Netherlands national championships and the prologue of the ZLM Tour, and the 52nd for Jumbo-Visma.

"I'm winning my third time trial of the year here," said the rider. "And it was a long time trial as well. I am very happy that I have won my first time trial in my red-white-blue Tricolore. And that I am also able to win a time trial on a very hilly course. The fact that Primoz finishes third makes it even more special for the team."

Jumbo-Visma's sports director Grischa Niermann described this as a beautiful finish for the European season. "This is a very nice way to end the season," he mentioned. "We had prepared the time trial in every detail. Jos still wanted to ride and he was very motivated to go flat out as a national champion.

"He had a good rhythm from the start and that proved to be sufficient for the victory. With Primoz on the podium as well, this was a more than a successful day for us. Moreover, this day was representative for the entire year."
