Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has signed Colombian climbing talent Jhojan Garcia for the upcoming season.

The 21-year-old used to ride at the Professional Continental level in Manzana Postobón and then went to the Continental team Medellín. For the upcoming season, the Colombian will be riding in Europe at Caja Rural-Seguros RGA.

Garcia has achieved his best results in the mountains. The rider finished in the eighth overall position of the Tour de l'Avenir, took the 10th place in the Vuelta a Asturias and topped the young rider classification at the Vuelta a Madrid and he finished in the second position of the Colombian U23 national championships, both on the road race and the time trial.

"I am very happy to sign for Caja Rural-Seguros RGA and very grateful to be able to ride the next season in Europe," the young Colombian mentioned. "It is a team that has great infrastructure and schedule. I was able to coincide with them in several races and I always looked at their attitude. In addition, it is a team with a lot of history.

"For my part, I hope to show that I can be with the best, try to win any race and help my teammates to do it. It will be very important to make a good beginning of the season, so that the team is taken into account for La Vuelta and, why not, as a personal objective I would like to participate in this race. Anyway, the team has a great calendar in Europe. I will try to give my best wherever I go. Now I will rest for a few weeks in Colombia and start preparing the new season very motivated."
